France, Allemagne, Pologne : un triangle pour l’Europe ?

The author presents an analytic view of the franco-german-polonian relations which, since 1991, have developed into an alliance of cooperation entitled «Triangle of Weimar». After a short sketch of the development and the first results of this Triangle, the article points to the sources which have shaped the origins of this tripartite constellation : the impact of History, the model of the franco-german cooperation and the big bang in Europe in 1989. The author proposes, further, an analysis of the political ingredients of the Triangle of Weimar and the motives of the three partners. The conclusion suggests different imperatives which are relevant for the further development of the Triangle in the enlarged European Union and for the participation of each of the partners within.

L’auteur présente un regard analytique sur les relations franco-germano-polonaises qui forment depuis 1991 une alliance de coopération sous forme de «triangle de Weimar». Suite à la présentation brève des acquis de ce triangle, l’article rappelle trois sources de détermination à l’origine de cette coopération tripartite : l’impact de l’Histoire, le modèle franco-allemand et le grand tournant de 1989. Il analyse ensuite les ingrédients politiques du triangle d’aujourd’hui et les différents motifs des trois partenaires pour conclure finalement sur les perspectives de cette coopération dans le contexte de l’élargissement de l’Union européenne. Il y insiste en retenant différents impératifs nécessaires à la participation de chacun des trois partenaires.
