Integrationsprozeß der Einwanderungsvölk er und Multikulturalismus Juan Matas Die Veränderungen der Einwanderungs-bewegungen und -Strukturen in Frankreich während der letzten Jahrzehnte, die hier behandelt werden, scheinen herauszustellen, daß die Umwälzung deren klassischen Schemen auf der Frage der Integration beruht. In einer Nation wo die Suche nach Kohäsion und die Sorge um eine Nichtbeschädigung der sozialen Bindung immer das Leitprinzip der Angleichungs-politik waren, erhebt sich die Frage, ob noch Platz für die Anerkennung einer teilnehmenden Identität der Einwanderer die dazu beitragen die kollektive Erinnerung des Empfängerlandes und deren Integration, bleibt ? Anders gesagt, ist der Multikulturalismus, im positivsten Sinn, ein Weg zur Integration ? Auf den Einwandereungsbereich angewendet, scheinen die Schwierigkeiten des Assimilierunsmodells das Bild der Dysfunktionen der Gesellschaft, was das “Zusammenleben” am Ende dieses Jahrunderts betrifft, zurückzustrahlen.

Thus, in a nation where the search for cohesion and the concern for not letting the social link deteriorate have always been the leading principle of assimilation policies, is there any room for the recognition of a participating immigrant identity which contributes to shape the collective memory of the host country and the integration of the immigrants ? Applied to the field of immigration, the difficulties met by the assimilation model seem to reflect the picture of the disfunctionings of the society as far as “living together” at the close of this century is concerned.
