An examination of a little-known text on 1830 American English, which gives us clues as to its mysterious writer, the linguistic methodology then practised, and the language spoken in North America at a time of radical change.

Une vision jacksonienne de l'anglais américain. Les Virginia Museum papers sont ici étudiés pour montrer l'état de l'anglais américain à l'époque de la Présidence d'Andrew Jackson, la méthodologie linguistique alors employée, et pour donner une théorie nouvelle quant à son auteur.
