Information systems in public administration, by Pierre Grémion and Haroun Jamous How can the components of a socio-political problematic of information systems in public administration be expressed? On the basis of a preliminary survey concerning initial attempts to establish an information system in public administration, a critical review of these initial experiments indicates four themes of analysis: 1. the organisational dynamics of setting up information systems; 2. the relationship between holding information and modifying power relations; 3. the socio-political role of experts; 4. the link between the accumulation of information and the object of government action.
