Climatology and rational spatial management : an assessment of temperature potential for artificial snow-making in the vercors The paper examines the possibilities of artificial snow-making in the Vercors ski resorts based on relative humidity figures and temperatures: lengthy series of daily extremes are reconstituted; a model is used to obtain an hourly interpretation of the temperature and then to identify the periods when the temperature is less than -4° C. The results show the importance of topographical conditions.

L'auteur étudie les possibilités d'enneigement artificiel des stations du Vercors en fonction des données de l'humidité relative et de potentialités thermiques des séries longues d'extrêmes quotidiens sont reconstituées ; un modèle permet d'effectuer l'interprétation horaire de la température et par suite de connaître les périodes où la température est inférieure à moins 4°. Les résultats montrent l'importance des conditions topographiques.
