Plans for the development of the aquitanian coast. The long and sandy littoral of the « Silver coast » had brought forth a series of summer holidays resorts. Considering the great development of tourisme after 1945, the problem of rational planning to develop this function has arisen. An « Interministerial Comity of Planning » (Mission interministérielle d'Aménagement) of the aquitanian coast elaborated a plan which approved in 1972 : its realization will be based on 9 main zones of planning separated by severals districts of natural balance. The reactions of the local authorities and those of the people differ very much.

Le long littoral sableux de la Côte d'Argent avait donné naissance à une série de stations estivales. Devant le grand développement du tourisme après 1945, le problème s'est posé d'un aménagement rationnel en vue de développer cette fonction. Une Mission interministérielle d'Aménagement de la côte aquitaine a mis au point un schéma approuvé en 1972 ; l'action portera sur neuf Unités principales d'aménagement séparées par des Secteurs d'équilibre naturel. Les réactions des collectivités locales et du public sont très partagées.
