Résumé En Fr

Urban trade and town planning with reference to Toulouse (SW France at the end of the 1970-79 period. Important changes were registered in in Toulouse since 1970 as far as the spatial distribution and structures of the retail trading activities are concerned. Many peripherical super and hypermarkets appeared : they extend together on 60 000 sq. m. when the shops in Toulouse and in its suburbs covered 650000 sq. m. as a whole in 1965. But other supermarkets and minor trade centers were developed too in the suburbs and external districts of Toulouse ; somme of these were parts of larger housing schemes. The down town district itself is concerned by another new trend : large commercial centers were established there together with large housing schemes. In spite of various conflicts between these contemporaneous trends, the urban development plan and the various institutions that are in charge of it are unable to master their evolution in order to fit more accurately the various soci-economic requisitions of this quickly expanding town : trading equipments are not fairly distributed all over the urban area, with the exception of the suburban municipality of Colomiers.
