Louis Ellies Du Pin was a prolific and famous author at the turning of the 17th Century, whose personal and literary influence has proved to be quite important. The study is both biographical and bibliographical ; it reconstructs the major elements of his busy life, especially as a member of the Faculty ot theology of Paris, and his involvement in religious affairs of his time. It evaluates the importance of his printed work as a theologian, biblical scholar and historian, and concludes with his representativeness as a Gallican Theologian.

Auteur fécond et célèbre au tournant du XVIIe siècle, Louis Ellies Du Pin a exercé une influence importante à la fois par sa vie et par son œuvre.
