Exodus 6:8 as a response to Ezekiel 33:24. In Ez 33:24, the inhabitants of the "ruins" claim the country as a "patrimony". The composition of the book of Ezekiel as a whole shows itself to be, in the final analysis, favorable to the "ruins", because of the "mockery" displayed towards them by the surrounding nations. It is in fact, however, the exiles who will receive these "ruins" as their "patrimony". Ex. 6 :8 should be situated in the logical continuity of the composition of the book of Ezekiel as a whole, taking into acount in particular Ez. 20, while at the same time taking note of the identification made by the Church Fathers between Deuteronomy and Abraham , Isaac and Jacob.
