The Sin of the Golden Calf in the Kabbalistic Interpretation of the Bible The author examines four texts concerning the theme of the Golden Calf two of which come from the Jewish pietists of Germany and two originated in the Spanish theosophical kabbalah. He analyses how the reworking of the old 'aggadah took place in mediaeval mystical thinking. He also brings out the specificity of each interpretation and the relations which can be established between them.

L'auteur examine quatre textes concernant le motif du Veau d'Or, dont deux issus du piétisme juif d'Allemagne et deux autres provenant de la kabbale théosophique d'Espagne. Il analyse de quelle manière s'est opérée dans la pensée mystique médiévale la reprise en charge de l'ancienne 'aggadah. Il fait ressortir également la spécificité de chaque interprétation, ainsi que les liens qui s'établissent entre les unes et les autres.
