The team has made a great effort to find an answer to the challenge of the A.T.P. «Europe Today» : to bring historians round to taking up an antighetto attitude, by persuading them to take part in international research in as many branches as possible. Several members of the team, including its scientific head, mean to follow the same direction in devoting themselves to the subject : «The Second World War, yesterday and today» in the North of France, Belgium and Alsace- Lorraine. An analysis of the imagined collective spirit, the essential element of regional identity, will be given priority.

L'équipe s'est efforcée de répondre au défi de l'A. T. P. «Europe du Temps présent» : amener les historiens à adopter une stratégie antighetto, en les incitant à animer des recherches pluridisciplinaires internationales. Plusieurs membres de l'équipe, dont son responsable scientifique, vont dans la même ligne se consacrer au thème : «La Seconde Guerre Mondiale, hier et aujourd'hui», ceci dans le nord de la France, la Belgique et «l'Alsace-Lorraine». L'analyse de l'imaginaire collectif, élément essentiel de l'identité régionale, sera privilégiée.

Het team onderzoekers heeft de uitdaging van het A. T. P. «Europe du Temps présent» (Europa van nu) aanvaard en de historici hebben hun ghetto verlaten door hun onderzoek in een internatio- naal en pluridisciplinair perspectief te plaatsen. Enkele leden van het team, waarbij de wetenschap- pelijk verantwoordelijke, gaan voort op de ingeslagen weg met een onderzoek gewijd aan «De Tweede Wereldoorlog, gisteren en nu», en dit in Noordfrankrijk, België en Elzas-Lothringen. De nadruk zal liggen op de analyse van de collectieve verbeelding, een essentieel element voor de régionale identiteit.
