If the history of the Lille Military Hospital buildings is well documented, the names and henceforth the lives of the medical doctors, surgeons and pharmaceutists who were appointed there during the Revolution and the Empire were largely unknown. The aim of this study is to give as complete a catalogue of this personnel as possible. There results from this study that this highly important facility has always been provided with a fairly competent personnel, allowing it to cope not only with its actual nursing tasks but also with teaching activities all the more important as they also benefited civilians. The integration of the health officers in charge seems to have been excellent both with the civilian population and with the local medical community.

Si l'histoire des bâtiments de l'hôpital militaire de Lille est bien connue, les noms et à plus forte raison les biographies des médecins, chirurgiens et pharmaciens qui y furent en fonction durant la Révolution et l'Empire étaient largement méconnus. Le but de ce travail est d'en donner un catalogue aussi complet que possible. Il résulte de cette étude que cet établissement de première importance a toujours été pourvu d'un personnel de bonne compétence, lui permettant de faire face non seulement aux tâches de soin, mais aussi à des responsabilités d'enseignement d'autant plus importantes que celui-ci s'adressait également aux civils. L'intégration des officiers de santé responsables paraît avoir été excellente tant avec la population civile qu'avec la communauté médicale lilloise.

De geschiedenis van het gebouw is voldoende bekend, maar men weet weinig of niets over het leven van de artsen, chirurgen en apotekers die er werkten tijdens de Revolutie en het Keizerrijk. In deze studie probeert men een zo volledig mogelijke lijst op te stellen. Het blijkt dat er in deze zeer belangrijke instelling steeds behoorlijk competent personeel is geweest, dat niet alleen de medische opdracht aankon, maar ook een pedagogische, namelijk het geven van lessen ook aan de burgerbevolking. De gezondheidsofficieren waren blijkbaar goed geintegreerd, zowel in de medische wereld van de stad, als bij de burgerbevolking.
