A copper crook in gilded, champlevé enamel, characteristic of XIIIth century Limoges workmanship was discovered in 1989 in Andres (Pas-de-Calais) lying on the surface of a freshly ploughed field on the location of the ancient Benedictine monastery dedicated to Saint Sauveur and Saint Rotrude. We shall begin the survey by the technical analysis, the stylistic one, and its comparative datation through what we know of the Limoges workmanship. We shall then study the archaeological environment of the Andres crook, which can be assessed thanks to probings carried out in 1982 and a better understanding of ancient discoveries. We shall finally attempt to determine the latest date of its burying before proposing an interpretation and even a plausible identification of its recipient, based on several series of evidence.

Une crosse en cuivre champlevé, émaillé et doré caractéristique de l'oeuvre de Limoges du XIIIe siècle a été découverte en 1989 à Andres (Pas-de-Calais) à la surface d'un champ labouré, sur le site de l'ancien monastère bénédictin dédié au Saint-Sauveur et à Sainte-Rotrude. Nous abordons la discussion par l'ana¬ lyse technique, stylistique et la datation comparative fondées sur la connaissance de l'œuvre de Limoges. Nous examinons ensuite l'environnement archéologique de la crosse d'Andres qu'il est possible de restituer grâce à un sondage mené en 1982 et à une meilleure compréhension des découvertes anciennes. Nous tâchons enfin de déterminer la date extrême de son enfouissement avant de proposer une interprétation, voire une identification plausible du destinataire, fondée sur plusieurs séries d'arguments.

Een koperen schaal in champlevé email met goudversiering typisch voor Limoges in de XIIde eeuw werd in 1989 ontdekt te Andres op de oppervlakte van een veld op de site van de vroegere Benediktijne-rabdij Saint-Sauveur en Sainte-Rotrude. Het stuk wordt onderzocht op technisch en stylistisch gebied en gesitueerd in de productie van Limoges. Daarna is er aandacht voor de archeologische context, die men kan reconstitueren kank zij een proefopgraving in 1982 en een betere studie van oudere vondsten. Er wordt getracht te bepalen wanneer het stuk juist begraven werd vooraleer een interpratie voor te stellen en een reeks argumenten om te bepalen voor wie het stukk bestemd was.
