The Merlovingian Necropolis of Bloville (Campagne-les-Hesdin, Pas-de-Calais), First Results. The Merlovingian necropolis of Bloville in Campagne-les-Hesdin (Pas-de-Calais) was unearthed in 1994 thanks to emergency excavation works prior to the widening of the RD 439 departmental road between Lambus and Bloville. Situated almost completely within the limits of the area concerned, it could then benefit from a near-complete excavation. It is a small rural necropolis made of about a hundred graves dug out of the clay-rich silt and dating back to a period stretching from the second half of the VIth century to the end of the VIIth, as confirmed by the relatively numerous artefacts collected. Unfortunately, the total absence of skeletons (the bones having been totally dissolved) won't allow an anthropological approach of this cemetery.

La nécropole mérovingienne de Bloville à Campagne-les-Hesdin (Pas-de-Calais) a été mise en évidence en 1994 dans le cadre de fouilles de sauvetage, préalablement à l'aménagement de la route départementale RD 439 entre Lambus et Bloville. Située presque entièrement dans les limites de l'emprise, elle a donc pu faire l'objet d'une fouille quasi intégrale. Il s'agit d'une petite nécropole rurale composée d'une centaine de tombes creusées dans le limon argileux, et datée de la seconde moitié du vie s. à la fin du VIe s., d'après le mobilier funéraire livré relativement conséquent. Malheureusement, la disparition totale des squelettes (ossements complètement dissous) ne permettra pas une approche anthropologique de ce cimetière.

De merovingische necropool van Bioville te Campagne-les-Hesdin (Pas-de-Calais) werd blootgelegd tijdens een noodopgraving voor de aanleg van de départementale weg RD 439 tussen Lambus en Bioville, in 1994. Zij lag bijna geheel in het onteigende terrein en kon dus bijna geheel uitgegraven worden. Het ging om een landelijke begraafplaats met een honderdtal graven in de leembodem en te dateren van de tweede helft van de vie eeuw tot het einde van de vne op grond van het vrij talrijke grafmeubilair. Daar er geen skeletten meer over waren (de beenderen waren volledig verstrooid) kon men de begraafplaats niet op antropologisch gebied bestuderen.
