Group mentality and emotionality. The notion of group mentality is treated here as the first notion developed by Bion to explain the workings of groups and in particular the anonymous character that the emotions tend to take on in groups. Out of that emerge all the essential concepts which we owe to this original thinker. By extending the notion of group mentality, I arrive at a description of group emotionality in order to explain the anonymous combinatory system for the generation of emotions : unstable rhythmic synchronisation of states of tension caused by the life of the group. Finally I make an attempy to articulate emotionality and the play of the instincts.

Reprise de la notion de mentalité de groupe, première notion dégagée par Bion, pour expliquer le fonctionnement dans les groupes, et en particulier l'aspect anonyme que prennent les émotions. A partir de là sont dégagés les concepts essentiels apportés par cette pensée originale. En prolongement à la notion de mentalité de groupe je décris celle d’émotionnalité groupale pour expliquer la combinatoire anonyme des émotions naissantes : synchronisation rythmique instable des états tentionnels, suscités par la vie de groupe. Tentative enfin d’une articulation entre émotionnalité et pulsionnalité.

Recuperación de la noción de mentalidad de grupo, primera noción librada por Bion, para explicar el funcionamiento en los grupos y en particular el aspecto anónimo que toman las emociones. A partir de este momento se delimitan los conceptos esenciales aportados por este pensamiento original. Como une prolongación de la noción de mentalidad de grupo, describo la de emocionalidad grupal para explicar la combinación anonima de las emociones nacientes : sincronisacidn rítmica inestable de los estados de tensión, suscitados por la via del grupo tentativa enfin, de una articulación entre emocionalidad y pulsionalidad.
