Interpretation : why, for whom and when ? The psychotherapists interpretive act is his insertion of himself through dialogue into the mental life of the Other and of his therapeutic group. A group is a forum for exchange and the interpretations are a vital part of the exchange process, the attempt to exchange surface for depth, symptoms for meaning, isolation for communication. C’est par l’acte d’interprétation que le psychothérapeute s’insère par le dialogue dans la vie mentale de l’autre et dans le groupe thérapeutique. Un groupe est un forum où ont lieu des échanges, et l’interprétation est la partie vitale du processus de l’échange : l’attente d’échanger la surface pour la profondeur, le symptôme pour le sens, l’isolation pour la communication.
