Phantasy-process, primary group process ; a theoretical framework for group analysis After putting forward the idea of the validity of a «group psychoanalysis» and stating that «only the conscious is proper to the individual and that the unconscious is groupal», the author, using the clinical material of groups of children, reflects upon projective identification which he considers as specific of group functioning and describes it as working on two levels, the one of processes and the one of representations. He is lead to pose the concept of «process-fantasies». Defining what he denominates the «primal group», which starts at the outset of the «conflict of origins» and in relation with the «imago of the origins», he develops the notion of a «primary group process».

Après avoir posé le problème du bien-fondé d'une «psychanalyse groupale» et affirmé que «seul le conscient est individuel et que l'inconscient est groupal», l'auteur, à l'aide d'un matériel de groupes d'enfants, traite de l'identification projective qu'il considère comme spécifique des groupes, et la décrit comme fonctionnant sur deux niveaux, celui du processus et celui de la représentation. Il est conduit à poser le concept de «fantasme-processus». Définissant, ensuite, le «groupe primaire» qui se constitue au sortir du conflit originaire et en rapport avec l’imago originaire, il développe la notion de «processus primaire groupal».

Defîniendo luego el «grupo primario» que se constituye al salir del conflicto originario y en relación con la imago originaria, desarrolla la nocion de «proceso primario grupal».
