Puglisi, On the path to Christian Unity : Will words alone suffice ? p. 33-46. - In this article, the author takes note of the beginnings of the modern day ecumenical movement and the Catholic's Church involvement. The time has come to ask the question : « Do I really want to be in communion with other Churches ? » While much progress has been made on the level of bi- and multi level dialogues, especially with excellent agreed statements, the words alone will not suffice. Using some interesting concepts from the philosopher Paul Ricoeur and the Groupe des Dombes, the author illustrates the role that a healing of memories and the conversion of the Christian, ecclesial and confessional identities must play in the life of the Churches if Christian Unity is to become a reality.

Dans cet article, l'auteur considère les débuts du mouvement œcuménique contemporain et l'implication qui est celle de l'Église catholique. Le temps est venu de poser la question : « Est-ce que je veux vraiment être en communion avec les autres églises ? » Alors que beaucoup de progrès ont été réalisés sur le plan des dialogues bi-multilatéraux, en particulier avec d'excellents accords, ces mots, pourtant, ne peuvent suffire à eux seuls. Reprenant quelques concepts pertinents au philosophe Paul Ricœur et au Groupe des Dombes, l'auteur montre quel rôle le pardon dans le souvenir et la conversion des identités chrétiennes, ecclésiales et confessantes doivent jouer dans la vie des églises si l'unité chrétienne doit devenir une réalité.
