In the 1980's certain approaches in this field assimilated information to resources and more particularly to economic resources. These analyses are not simply the expression of a theoretical deficit or of an ideological shift. They can also be seen as the concern to legitimate public and private strategies and they range them selves in a current which proclaims the advent of a new society, at the heart of which information will provide the vital energy.

Das les années 1980, certaines approches ont assimilé l'information à une ressource et, plus particulièrement, à une ressource économique. Ces analyses ne sont pas seulement l'expression d'un déficit théorique ou d'une dérive idéologique. Elles traduisent aussi le souci de légitimer des stratégies publiques et privées et s'inscrivent dans un courant annonçant l'avènement d'une nouvelle société, au sein de laquelle l'information serait l'énergie vitale.
