Résumé En

A «millefiori» glass tile, probably from Samarra and preserved at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, is probably the only known example of the use of this technique as a floor decoration and allows to put in context the prominence of the palaces in the Abbasid capital between 836 and 892 AD. This tile was probably part of an ensemble that decorated the floor of al-Jawsaq al-Khaqani Palace, which was built for the Caliph al-Mu‘tasim between 836 and 842.
