Résumé En

Radix de Sainte-Foix (1736-1810) a collector, who also was a diplomat and senior servant of the Crown under Louis XVI, gathered up a magnifi cent cabinet composed of paintings, bronzes, precious furniture and rare porcelain. But in April 1782 he had to part with his masterpieces in public auction. This hitherto unpublished study shows some aspects about the taste of Radix de Sainte-Foy for oriental porcelain that have been unknown for too long.
