Es wird zuerst die Lithologie eines stratigraphischen Profils durch das obere Miozän beschrie¬ ben. Im unteren Teil dieser Schichten liegt die Fundstelle des Oreopithecus. In der Mitte des Profils findet man pontische Hipparionen. Die Schichten 9, 20 und 21 lieferten eine reiche Molluskenfauna, die im zweiten Teil beschrieben wird. Hierbei befinden sich Limnocardien von Pontischem Typ, aber sarmatischen Alters.

Изучение верхнего миоцена в районе Ваччинелло (Гроссето, Италия) Первая часть этой работы описывает литологию стратифического разреза верхнего миоцена содержащего лигнит. Основание этой серии соответствует пласту, в котором был найден Oreopithecus ; в середине были собраны Hipparion понтического типа. Уровни 9, 20 и 21 дали богатую фауну моллюсков описанных во второй части. Среди этих моллюсков были собраны лимнокардии понтического типа.

The first part of this note presents a litholigic description of a stratigraphie section through the lignitiferous Upper Miocene. The base of the series corresponds to the Oreopithecus beds, and Pontian-type Hipparion is found at intermediate levels. The second part deals with the rich molluscan fauna which occurs in levels 9, 20 and 21. This fauna includes Limnocardium of Pontian type, but of Sarmatien age.

La première patrie de cette note est consacrée à la description lithologique d'une coupe stratigraphique à travers le Miocène supérieur lignitifère. A la base de la série se trouve le gisement de l'Oreopithecus ; vers le milieu de la coupe on a recueilli des Hipparion de type pontien ; les niveaux 9, 20 et 21 ont fourni une riche faune de Mollusques décrits dans la deuxième partie de la note. Parmi ceux-ci des Limnocardium de type pontique mais d'âge sarmatien.
