The implementation of the guaranteed minimum income (RMI) and even more the 1990 Right to Housing Act have generated a variety of programs in order to improve the accommodation facilities for disadvantaged people. Depending on the type of program, and on the target population, different rates of action can be observed : helping people become solvent may be faster than helping them in their housing search. These differences in pace reveal the ambiguities and the actual stakes of those programs which attempt to connect social policies and housing policies, thereby questioning the integration logic by offering a different kind of lifestyle and a different frame reference for the organizational pattern.

RÉSUMÉ : Avec la mise en place du RMI, et plus encore avec la loi de 1990 sur le droit au logement, se développent des interventions très variées qui visent l'amélioration des conditions et politiques du logement et réinterrogent les logiques de l'insertion, par la remise en cause du mode de vie et du modèle ď organisation de référence.
