Elie Cohen The «Auroux Laws Moment», or the Desublimation of the Economy The Auroux Laws seem to have been decided from above, by the State, in order to institutionalize a space wherein employees may have a voice. This decision also seems to be the outcome of union demands about worker participation. These laws have come into effect at a time when the labor union movement is undergoing a crisis, when the government is seeking to redefine the limits of its interventions and when employers are reorganizing around the firm.

Les lois Auroux apparaissent comme une décision «par le haut» prise par l'Etat pour institutionnaliser un espace où puisse se développer l'expression des salariés ; cette décision apparaît aussi comme un débouché aux revendications syndicales sur la participation. Ces lois viennent en application au moment où le syndicalisme traverse une crise, où l'Etat cherche à redéfinir les contours de son intervention, où le patronat se réorganise autour de l'entreprise.
