This is study is based on the videotaped observation of six mentally handicapped children. The results show that the child doesn’t carry out orders so often during the riding activity as during the activities at the institute. The behaviours of fear are more frequent but on the other hand stereotyped behaviour is less common whilst riding. Social behaviour is similar in both situations.

Cette étude se fonde sur l’observation filmée de six enfants handicapés mentaux. Dans le club d’équitation, les enfants handicapés exécutent moins souvent les consignes données que dans l’institut spécialisé pour l’accueil de ces enfants. Les comportements de crainte sont également plus nombreux. En revanche, les stéréotypés sont plus rares en club. Les comportements sociaux sont similaires dans les deux situations.
