Résumé En

: Concerning the Hungarian expedition in the south of Moldova (1345). The Hungarian military expedition started, very probably, some time towards the beginning of the year 1345. Its aim was to stop the Tatar raids on Transylvania coming from this direction. The result of this action was the appearance of a political-military structure east of the Carpathians, controlled by the Hungarian kingdom, and completed shortly after that, by a religious one, through the recreation of the episcopate of Milcovia, in 1347. The new structure, set up here by the Hungarian royalty, managed to contribute, during the following two decennia, to pushing the Mongolian domination towards the maritime area. However, the Hungarian control east of the Carpathians will not resist in front of the pressure exerted by the leaders of the local society, who will manage to impose their own political leader coming through under the protection of Hungary.
