Résumé
The Middle Paleolithic Anthropological Discoveries in the 19th Century. The paleoanthropological discoveries of the 19th century, even though rare, generated a huge interest in the scientific world. The revolution generated by accepting the existence of other human species, especially of the Neanderthals, has fundamentally changed the way we see the world and, especially, its past. The study reviews, in chronological order, all of the archaeological discoveries associated with the Middle Paleolithic made in the 19th century and aims at underlining the importance of each and every one of them in the context of understanding out evolutionary past.
