Résumé
This paper tries to analyse the ethical purpose of the poetics of dialogue used by Boethius in the Consolatio Philosophiae. After putting in context the work of Boethius in the traditions of Late-Antique and Christian dialogue, it presents the various faces of dialogue at work and finally focuses on the symbolical use of the dialogue form, in connection with the Neoplatonic theory and the material conditions of the work’s composition.
