The article aims to analyze the section of Lucretius’ De Rerum Natura concerning the problem of the color (II, 730-864) from a double perspective : firstly, it will confront the passage with other sources about the Epicurean doctrine of color, in order to verify the orthodoxy of Lucretius’ presentation ; secondly, it will try to highlight the literary, rhetorical, didactic strategies the Latin poet carries out to adequately and persuasively display that doctrine to his public.
