New edition and translation with commentary of verses 56-60 (= P 2781.71-78) of the Late Khotanese story of Rāma (cf. Abs. Ir. 20-21, 1997-1998, 34, no. 79) concerning « the agreement made by Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa to share the favours of Sītā ». I should translate 56c haṃtsa jsa samā-ṃ yudāṃdä not ‘They made a pact with one another (haṃtsa jsa ... -ṃ)’ but ‘With regard to (her) company (haṃtsa jsa), they made a pact with one another (-ṃ)’, cf. 58d khu śau ttraima haṃtse kiṃna ‘If one (of the two)...
