In the center of Maria Szuppe’s valuable article stands the introduction of a hitherto neglected, if not unknown source on Shaybanid history: the Mosaḫḫer-e belād written around the turn of the 16th to the 17th century by Moḥammad Yār b. ‘Arab Qaṭaġān in Persian.
