Several Qajar paintings in the Georgian National Museum of Fine Arts are briefly analyzed that were painted between the reign of Fatḥ-‘Alī Šāh (1797-1834) and 1901/02. One of them is a rare official portrait of Moḥammad Šāh (1834-1848). These paintings are a very small part of the Museum’s vast collection of Persian art; its holdings of Qajar and Zand paintings alone (in their different types) amount to approximately 1,500 items, most of which have not yet been the subject of a publication.
