This book is a collection and republication of a total of eight papers by Jean Kellens dedicated to the Avestan Yašts. Apart from the introductory text from 1978, they originate from two series of lectures presented at the Collège de France in 1997-2000 and 2008-2011 and offer a panorama of Kellens’ contemplation of these texts. The topic is treated in a selective manner; it discusses the ‘Great Yašts’, viz. Yt 10 (and Yt 8), Yt 19, Yt 5 (and the so-called catalogues of worshippers) and Yt 13...
