Readers of this new journal are familiar with coroplastic studies and most of them will have a sense of religious studies, as — in the core areas and periods covered by this journal — figurines are usually assumed to have a religious meaning. The presence of figurines in the archaeological record leads to various kinds of research in coroplastic studies and cognate fields of study (focused on a variety of, e.g., technical and social aspects).
