El objetivo de este artículo es poner en evidencia la configuración de un campo social vinculado a la “nueva arquitectura andina” en la ciudad de El Alto. Lo que me interesa interrogar es la manera en que diversos actores se articulan alrededor de esta arquitectura, movilizando un capital económico, cultural y científico. El artículo se propone, por un lado, interrogar las categorías prácticas y analíticas que han construido para analizar esta arquitectura, presentando una síntesis bibliográfica sobre este objeto. Por otro lado, a partir de una experiencia personal -mi participación como jurado en un concurso de arquitectura y diseño para elegir al “mejor cholet”- reflexionaré sobre la manera en que se fabrica un canon arquitectónico.

The objective of this article is to highlight the configuration of a social field linked to the "new Andean architecture" in the city of El Alto. What I am interested in questioning is the way in which various actors are articulated around this architecture mobilizing an economic, cultural and scientific capital. The article proposes, on the one hand, to interrogate the practical and analytical categories that they have built to analyze this architecture, presenting a bibliographic synthesis on this object. On the other hand, from a personal experience - my participation as a jury in an architecture and design competition to choose the "best cholet" - I will reflect on the way in which an architectural canon is manufactured.
