En su novela Distancia de rescate (2014), la escritora argentina Samanta Schweblin convoca los elementos constituyentes de lo que se ha llamado el ecoterror, a saber, una variación del género donde la temática ecológica atraviesa de manera tangencial el relato para convertirse en la fuente o la depositaria del sentimiento de terror. En ese marco, proponemos que en el texto se establece una poética del desconocimiento, donde la ignorancia, la duda, mediatizan las relaciones entre los individuos y el entorno. Así, el objetivo de este estudio es mostrar el modo en que elementos como la figura del doble o el concepto psicoanalítico del acto fallido convergen para crear una poética del desconocimiento, herramienta que podría permitir analizar otras fábulas inquietantes de terror ecológico.

In her novel Distancia de rescate (2014), the Argentinian writer Samanta Schweblin summons the constituent elements of what has been called ecohorror. Namely, a variation of the horror genre where the ecological theme tangentially crosses the story to become the source or repository of the feeling of horror. In this framework, I argue that the text establishes a poetics of the unknown, where ignorance and doubt mediate the relationship between individuals and the environment. Thus, the aim of this study is to show how elements such as the figure of the double or the psychoanalytic concept of the failed act converge to create a poetics of ignorance, a tool that could allow us to analyze other disturbing fables of ecological terror.
