Le premier article, de Stéphane Roland, « Sept ans plus tard, quel bilan pour le film The Act of Killing ? », traite du premier film documentaire de Joshua Oppenheimer. En 2012, ce film révéla une terrible vision de l’héritage contemporain du régime de Soeharto. Le film connut un tel retentissement dans la communauté des victimes et à l’international qu’il reste pertinent aujourd’hui de s’interroger sur la démarche de cet objet singulier, ainsi que sur son impact. Le deuxième article, de Jean-Michel Marlaud, « Le Soliloque des muets , un film de Stéphane Roland », recense le film que le documentariste français a consacré aux victimes des événements, essentiellement constitué d’interviews d’anciens prisonniers et de vues du Tribunal populaire international 1965 qui s’est tenu à La Haye, en 2015. Le troisième article, d’Henri Chambert-Loir, « Lettres de Prague : mélodrame et politique », analyse la façon dont le film Surat dari Praha d’Angga Dwimas Sasongko (2016), qui raconte avant tout une histoire d’amour malheureuse, a pour but de montrer à la jeune génération indonésienne l’injustice dont ont été victimes les nationalistes indonésiens qui se retrouvèrent exilés après 1965, mais exclut de cette « réhabilitation » les communistes, qui demeurent ainsi au ban de l’histoire.
