Cet article est le premier d’une série de contributions dont l’objectif est de rendre compte des investigations menées à Délos sur les différents secteurs de la ville qui n’ont jusqu’à présent fait l’objet d’aucune fouille. Celui‑ci est consacré à la région située au nord et à l’est du stade, au contact de la presqu’île de Patinioti. Il ressort des observations réalisées en surface du terrain naturel qu’on a affaire à un quartier d’habitations organisé en îlots autour d’une voie principale nord-sud, qui semble être la continuité du quartier du Stade fouillé par A. Plassart et pourrait dater de la seconde période de la domination athénienne après 167 av. J.‑C. Sur les franges littorales est et ouest, les maisons sont construites perpendiculairement à la ligne du rivage, obligeant les constructeurs à réaliser d’importants travaux de génie civil. Les différences structurelles observées entre ces deux systèmes conduisent à se poser la question de la chronologie relative qui a présidé au développement de ce secteur.

Αυτό το άρθρο είναι το πρώτο µιας σειράς που στόχος της είναι να αναφερθεί στις έρευνες που πραγµατοποιούνται στη ∆ήλο, σε τοµείς της πόλης που µέχρι τώρα δεν είχαν ανασκαφεί. Αναφέρεται στην περιοχή που βρίσκεται βόρεια και ανατολικά του σταδίου, σε επαφή µε τη χερσόνησο του Πατινιώτη. Οι παρατηρήσεις που έγιναν κατά την επιφανειακή έρευνα δείχνουν πως έχουµε να κάνουµε µε µια συνοικία κατοικιών διαταγµένη σε νησίδες γύρω από µια κεντρική οδό µε κατεύθυνση Βορρά-Νότο, η οποία φαίνεται να αποτελεί τη συνέχεια της συνοικίας του Σταδίου που είχε ανασκάψει ο A. Plassart και που πιθανώς χρονολογείται στη δεύτερη περίοδο της αθηναϊκής κυριαρχίας µετά το 167 π.Χ. Στις παρυφές κοντά στην ακτή, στα Ανατολικά και ∆υτικά, οι οικίες είναι κατασκευασµένες κάθετα στην ακτογραµµή, υποχρεώνοντας τους κατασκευαστές να προχωρήσουν σε σηµαντικά έργα µηχανικής. Οι δοµικές διαφορές που παρατηρούνται µεταξύ αυτών των δυο συστηµάτων µας κάνουν να διερωτηθούµε πάνω στη σχετική χρονολογία που επικράτησε κατά την ανάπτυξη αυτού του τοµέα της πόλης.

This article is the first in a series of papers that aim to report on the investigations carried out in various sectors of the city of Delos which have not yet been excavated. The focus of this paper is the region to the north and east of the stadium, connected with the Patinioti peninsula. The observations made on the surface of the site suggest we are dealing with a residential area organized in blocks around a main north-south road, which seems to be the continuation of the Stadium quarter excavated by A. Plassart, and could date from the second period of Athenian rule after 167 BC. On the eastern and western coastlines, houses were built perpendicular to the shoreline, forcing builders to carry out extensive civil engineering work. The structural differences observed between these two systems lead to the question of the relative chronology of the development of this sector.
