“The archeology of paper”, is not just an enormous library – printed mirror, drawn or pictured of archaeology – but also a new evaluation, discipline after discipline, of public or private archives contribution to this permanent collective reconstitution from the past. Based upon the particular case of the dispersal of the archives of the excavations Director of Karnak in 1917, one of the Antiquity largest religious complex, are specified lost information and reasons to search and drive out what could still exist in the autographs business from the “Legrain’s papers”.According to the “discourse on the method”, the archives science inquiry suggests the reader to move away from analyzed series because the original locating is that much of a price.
