The paper provides an introduction to the concepts of ‘cultural neighbourhood’ and ‘cultural neighbour’. While extending the application of the concept from a regional context between ethnic groups of southern Ethiopia to a wider national and global horizon we ask if cultural neighbourhood could be a useful approach to challenge the increasing presence of global actors, like foreign investors, -qualified specialists and workers from abroad or global cooperations in (Ethiopia and other) Africa...
