Esta comunicação apresenta o caso da reorganização dos espaços e serviços da Biblioteca da Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação (Universidade de Lisboa) que consubstanciou uma visão em que a leitura e a aprendizagem são centrais. Com este pretexto, poderemos expor a perspectiva que temos de uma biblioteca universitária voltada para os leitores e para as suas necessidades de estudo e investigação, mas também de interacção com os seus pares e de contacto com as diversas fontes de informação num ambiente convidativo e tranquilo. É nossa intenção dar um enquadramento de todo o processo, desde a avaliação inicial dos serviços, que apontava para uma necessidade de melhorar a oferta de condições de permanência dos utilizadores, até à instalação do novo mobiliário e reabertura, finalizando com uma nova avaliação da biblioteca pelos utilizadores. Este processo teve como objectivos procurar completar a oferta dos serviços, diversificando os espaços funcionais, sem esquecer as condições necessárias ao desempenho dos técnicos que aqui desenvolvem o seu trabalho. Por fim será feita uma análise de práticas de leitura dos utilizadores da biblioteca da FPCE e da influência e impacto que as alterações espacio-funcionais terão tido no uso local dos recursos impressos e digitais e na permanência dos utilizadores na biblioteca. Conclui-se que o ambiente de estudo e as condições do espaço condicionam a apropriação que é feita pelos utilizadores da biblioteca e logo, as práticas de leitura aí desenvolvidas, que, no caso em análise, se observaram reforçadas.

This communication presents the case of spaces and services reorganization in the Faculty of Psychology and of Sciences of Education Library (University of Lisbon) that materialized the vision where the core is the reading and the learning. With this pretext, we will be able to display the perspective that we have of a university library directed toward the readers and its needs of study and investigation, the interaction with its pairs and contact with the diverse sources of information, in a welcoming and smooth environment. It is our intention to give also a framing of the process, starting in the initial evaluation of the services, which pointed to a necessity to improve the permanence conditions for the users, up to the installation of the new furniture, the reopening and finishing with a new evaluation of the library by the users. The goal was to complete the offer of the services, diversifying the functional spaces, without forgetting the necessary conditions to the performance of the technicians that develop their work here. Finally will be made an analysis of the of FPCE library users reading practices. We will analyze also the influence and impact that the alterations in spaces have had in the local use of the digital and printed resources and in the permanence of the users in the library. One concludes that the environment of study and the conditions of the space influence the appropriation made by the users of the library and, in consequence, the reading practices developed there, which were, in the case in analysis, reinforced.
