La réunion de six trésors des xe-xie siècles offre l’occasion de reprendre et de compléter l’étude proposée par Françoise Dumas dans la publication du trésor de Fécamp. Avec 2 378 exemplaires du xe s. issus de 36 ateliers différents, l’ensemble paraît représentatif pour la plus grande partie de la France au nord de la Loire, là où s’exerçait l’influence des Robertiens. Une abondance et une diversité monétaires qui permettent de poser la question de l’autorité monétaire qui préside au choix des types, des poids, des titres des pièces, mais aussi à l’implantation des ateliers monétaires. Des ateliers principaux dotés d’un dynamisme propre apparaissent en effet au centre de groupes d’émissions et de zones de circulation qui, probablement, reflètent également pour partie les modes d’utilisation des espèces monétaires.

The gathering of six hoards of the 10th and 11th centuries provides the opportunity to take up and complete the study proposed by Françoise Dumas in her publication of the Fécamp hoard. With 2378 coins of the 10th century from 32 different mints, the whole seems representative of most of France north of the Loire, where the influence of the Robertians extended. An abundance and diversity of coinage allows us to investigate the monetary authority that determined the choice of types, weights and fineness as well as the establishment of mints. Principal mints, endowed with their own dynamism, emerge in the center of groups of issues and circulation zones which, most probably, reflect partially the methods of use of the money-supply.
