Cet article propose une analyse de la construction du réseau professionnel de chamanes dans la République de Touva (Russie). Depuis le début des années 1990, la pratique rituelle y a lieu essentiellement dans le cadre de « sociétés chamaniques ». Le développement de ces organisations hiérarchisées constitue une des principales transformations par rapport au passé présoviétique. D’une part, il s’agira de comprendre comment ce réseau se structure et pourquoi les chamanes y adhèrent. Mais de l’autre, il faudra aussi cerner la contradiction qui s’impose progressivement entre ce mode d’organisation du travail en collectif et le caractère fondamentalement individualiste de la pratique chamanique.

This article analyses the construction of the professional network of Shamans in the Tuva Republic (Russia). Since the beginning of the 1990’s the ritual practice takes place mostly in the framework of shamanic societies. The development of these hierarchical organisations represents one of the main transformations in comparison with the pre-soviet past. On the one hand, the article will show how the network has been structured and why the shamans join these organisations. On the other hand, it will be also important to stress the contradiction that emerges progressively between this collective mode of work organisation and the fundamentally individualistic nature of the shamanic practice.
