Malabarisches Heidenthum Works on ritual At several points in the Malabarisches Heidenthum, Ziegenbalg describes Hindu rituals and either quotes from or refers to Tamil works which specify how the rituals are to be performed. There are six such works, none of which is referred to at any other point in Ziegenbalg’s writings, although the rituals they concern are also described in the Genealogia, mostly in the chapter on offerings with which the book ends (gmg 245v–262v).
