La place des opérations-martyres au féminin dans les stratégies d’émancipation des organisations combattantes au Liban

Les années 1980 ont vu émerger au Moyen-Orient les « opérations-suicides » ou « opérations-martyres ». Ce phénomène introduit au Liban par le Hezbollah en lutte contre l’occupant israélien est resté un temps l’apanage des hommes. Puis il a séduit un certain nombre de mouvements de gauche (les premiers à avoir organisé la résistance contre l’armée d’occupation) qui ont intégré les femmes dans cette forme de combat. Cette féminisation des « opérations-martyres » signifie‑t‑elle pour autant qu’on s’achemine vers une égalité hommes-femmes, passant par la lutte armée ? Qui sont ces femmes, et dans certains cas ces jeunes filles, ayant opté pour cette voie ? Voilà les questions auxquelles le chapitre tente de répondre.

The 1980s saw the emergence of “suicide operations” or “martyr operations” in the Middle East. This phenomenon, introduced into Lebanon by Hezbollah in the struggle against the Israeli occupier, remained for a time the prerogative of men and then seduced a number of left-wing movements (the first to have organized resistance against the occupying army) that integrated women into this form of combat. Does this feminization of “martyr operations” mean that we are moving towards gender equality, through armed struggle? Who are these women, and in some cases these very young girls, who have chosen this path? These are the questions the chapter attempts to answer.
