This volume of essays on Percival Everett’s fiction is a long-delayed celebration. At the University of Tours, in 2002, thanks to the support of the Conseil Scientifique, scholars specializing in African-American studies discovered a prolific African-American writer who refuses to confine his art to racial protest because it gags imagination.
