Résumé
Guillem de Torroella’s La Faula (c. 1370) is best known as a late medieval Occitan epilogue to the Mort le roi Artu. In this 1270-line nova, a young squire from Majorca embarks on an accidental journey on the back of a whale that takes him to a Mediterranean Avalon. The well-read poet-protagonist discovers an ailing Arthur who orders him to return to his land to explain the moral and political implications of a vision the King has invited him to see in his sword.
