At the onset, Macbeth makes us face the dogmatic riddle put forth in the cryptic statement of “fair is foul and foul is fair”. The interchangeability of fair and foul opens up the possibility of a dual perspective while, at the same time, nullifying all linguistic and semantic definitions.
