Mitchell’s Who Has Seen The Wind deals with a young boy named Brian O’Connal who, very early, starts pondering about himself and the world he is placed in. The novel is divided into four parts which emphasize four major steps in the boy’s development. This division into four parts reminds the reader of the four gates the Turkish dervishes have to go through in order to become one with the ultimate Reality.
