Andrew Dewar Gibb (1888-1974) was called to the English Bar in 1917. He practised in England after the war and taught as a visiting lecturer at the Universities of Edinburgh and Cambridge. He was appointed to the Regius Chair at the University of Glasgow in 1934. He was Leader of the Scottish National Party from 1936 until 1940.
